After years of helping our mother through difficult transitions as she aged, Ida, along with her husband, Harold, were there to the moment of her passing. Being out of the country and hearing of her abrupt decline, we were not anxious knowing that our mother was with others who would be with her through it all. Our dad went from needing medication dispensing to needing a daily 12 hour shift and then full 24 hour care. Thank heavens for Ida Armstrong and her caretakers because they were always with him, seeing to his every need, keeping in touch with me, being with him no matter where he went, and provided much relief for my brother and me to know our precious father was well cared for. Dad really liked the caretakers and they were so good with him. Ida always made sure the caretaker "fit" so dad would be happy. When he had to go to the hospital the nurses were so happy to have extra help because they were with dad 24 hours everyday no matter where.
